Have you ever been in a shower that doesn’t drain properly with water rising up over your ankles? It can really ruin the experience of taking a nice shower, and instead make you feel like you can’t get your feet clean.

The most common reason for this problem is an accumulation of hair and soap in your pipes causing a clog to form. You should try to avoid hair going down your drain as much as possible. If you find that you shed a lot, you might want to consider installing a device filtering the hair out of the water before going down the drain.

While it might be tempting to use a drain cleaning liquid to get rid of the clog, these can do damage to your pipes and the environment, so it is better to try to remove it mechanically. If the clog is close to the drain, you might be able to pull it loose with a wire hanger. You can also try using a plunger to dislodge it.
